What You Really Need to Know About PubMed
This workshop is designed to help interested faculty and students learn how to search PubMed@Duquesne more efficiently and completely. The workshop will address how to create effective search strategies using Boolean operators, filters, MeSH, and Topic-Specific Queries. We will also demonstrate several ways to easily access full-text articles, and provide additional information on the differences between PubMed, PubMed Central, and MEDLINE.

Gumberg Library Award for Undergraduate Research
Gumberg Library is sponsoring the Gumberg Library Award for Undergraduate Research in 2013. Thanks to the financial support of donors, the award will include a $250 cash prize.
Posters accepted for Duquesne University’s 2013 Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium (URSS) will be considered for the Gumberg Library Award for Undergraduate Research. A committee of library faculty and administrators will judge relevant posters based on the posters’ intellectual merits and demonstration that the research presented meets the standard of its field.
Students can submit abstracts or find more information about the URSS at: http://www.duq.edu/research/student-research/urss.
The deadline to submit an abstract is March 13, 2013.
The Gumberg Library Award for Undergraduate Research will be announced at the end of the URSS. The winner is also expected to attend a brief ceremony at Gumberg Library’s National Library Week celebration (April 14-20, 2013).

Pulitzer Prize Author, at the Duquesne University Barnes & Noble Bookstore.

Gumberg Library Entrance Policy
To ensure the priority of service to Duquesne users, and for safety reasons, everyone entering the building must carry photo ID with them at all times. Children entering the building must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Members of the general public are not permitted to enter the building without an appointment.
