Documenting the Impact of Your Scholarship

Presenters: David Nolfi & Allison Brungard, Gumberg Library

Discussion Leaders: Dr. Nancy Trun & Dr. Rick Zoucha, University P&T Committee

May 2, 2013, 11 AM - 12:30 PM

Gumberg Library 408

The workshop's goal is to help faculty members applying for promotion and tenure to make the case for excellence in scholarship by using tools such as citation analysis, journal metrics, and other methods. Newer faculty who are just starting to publish can also benefit by using these tools to develop effective publishing strategies. Following the presentation, participants will have hands-on opportunities to use the tools and begin documenting the impact of their own scholarship. The workshop will conclude with a faculty-led discussion about using scholarship data in the promotion and tenure process. Cosponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence and Gumberg Library.
Please RSVP to Mrs. Lisa Sciulli at 412.396.5346 or sciulle@duq.edu.

Winners of the Gumberg Library Award for Undergraduate Research Announced

Melissa Meola and Ashley Leposky, seniors in the School of Nursing, are the winners of the first Gumberg Library Award for Undergraduate Research, a cash prize of $250, which they will share. Their poster on the “Prevention of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP)” was one of the posters accepted for Duquesne University’s 2013 Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium (URSS).
